Papercutter #3 !!!
Papercutter. It's a very cool anthology series put together by Greg Means at Tugboat Press, and I happen to be in the third issue of it. I'm quite happy with the cover and story and I'd love people to check it out and see what they think of it!
Just look at it would ja? Demand that your local comic shop pick it up!

Oh man. Portland's Stumptown Comics Fest!
It is Monday, October 30, and the weekend of Stumptown Comics Fest is now becoming a memory. A memory filled with excellent times and rather awesome people. I wanted to say thanks to Indigo for putting together another terrific show in Portland this year. I've been attending this convention since it started in 2004 and it just keeps getting bigger and better.
I'm pleased to say that I discovered the wonderful power of live comics readings this weekend as well. The reading held at Guapo comics in SE Portland was amazing! All the creators that read their work added a new dimension to it that I would never have anticipated. Excellent fun. I've posted some images of Scott Campbell reading Pyramid Car over here. And if you're not already aware of Joe Sayers then head here and read some of the funniest stuff in comics.

10 days until Stumptown in Portland!
Hang onto yer socks!
It's getting really, really, close to Stumptown Comics Fest time! Can you believe it? I can't! I've still got tons to do to get ready for it!
Stumptown starts on Friday evening, Oct. 27 and continues on until Saturday,Oct. 28. And it'll take place here, the Oregon Convention Center.
It's looking very good that I'll have brand NEW comic story out for the show! It'll be featured in the excellent anthology "PaperCutter #3" by Tugboat Press. It'll even sport a cover by yours truly. Along with that debut I'm going to be selling the latest Hickee comics, as well as all the Grickle books, and Stickleback. Some original art will be for sale and a mish mash of free postcards and stickers too!
The rest of the Hickee crew will also be there with an assortment of items. Such as Raz's mini, Doublefine merch and more minis from Scott, myself, Joe and Nathan!
and wait ...there's more!!
I've got a bunch of my animated shorts being shown at Zoey Trope's Cartoon Cavalcade on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 7pm. Located at the historic Hollywood Theater in Portland. Definitely go and see the funny picture shows after the convention!
Plus I still have a piece up at Pushdot Studio as part of their "One Shot gallery show."
Whew! Okay then, I think that's all I've got for now! Just try and relax and prepare yourself for an amazing weekend of comic craziness in Portland!
(whoa. Waaaaay too many links in this post eh.)

"One Shot" Gallery show at Pushdot Studio in Portland!
Thought I should let everyone know that I've got a piece up at the "One Shot" gallery show starting tonight in Portland. The show will run from October 5th until early November and features single panels pulled from various comic stories. There's a ton of great people in it! You can view the online gallery sampling here.
The piece I've submitted is a selected panel from the Captain Insomniac story created for the Project: Superior anthology from AdHouse Books.
If you're in Portland you should definitely stop by and check it out! The gallery is located at:

A little news update- Stumptown in Portland!
Hi folks!
Things are hopping this fall and I wanted to post a news filled update!
First off, I'll be attending the Stumptown ComicsFest in Portland, Oregon, this year. The event will take place on Friday, October 27th and Saturday, October 28th at the Oregon Convention Center. I'll be there with the majority of the Hickee gang, selling new mini's, the latest Hickee (vol.3 #2) and plenty of other doo-dads! Even some original art! Take a trip to the NorthWest and check it out!
I've got some new material surfacing this autumn. There'll be a 14 page comic appearing in the fine pages of PaperCutter #3, published by the great people of Tugboat Press. It should be sporting an Annable cover as well.
I'm also planning to have a full colour, 4 page story in Flight #4. I've been seeing a lot of the roughs by other folks for this book and it is really looking fabulous! I'm very excited to be a part of the Flight crew!
And if you haven't been checking it, then you should hop over to the Hickee Hub and watch some little animated shorts I've been tinkering around with.
That's all the grickle news for now! I'll be posting images and further developments as they become more polished and defined!

Press! PR! Flash!
Hello folks,
Just wanted to pass along a link on comics and graphic novels. Some art of mine is presented in the article, alongside some other fine examples of comics people, in a snazzy flash format.
Have a peek here, if you have a moment.
Here.
Oh, and make sure to click on the "click here" part beside "life-changing" to get to the snazzy flash bit eh. Depending on your computer and internet situation it may take a minute to load. Be patient as I think it's worth the wait. :)

It's a double fine world to be in!
Hey folks!
Official APE update!
I'm going to be signing and selling books at the freshly formed Doublefine Productions and Hickee table at APE! Woo hoo! Mr. Tim Schafer's fine, fine, video game company also employs some of Hickee's finest artists and so it seemed a natural fit for the convention this year.
I'm working away on my new mini "Grey Bear" and if everything goes as planned I'll be bringing a bunch to the show! I'm really excited for this year's event! Most of the Hickee fellas are planning on bringing new minis as well.
Good times for all I foresee.

News and apologies!!
Hello again!
After a lengthy, lengthy, absence from Grickle updates I believe I'm finally back on track! And in the form of a blog no less!
I've recently relocated up to Portland, Oregon and in doing so a lot of my essential items have been stuffed away in boxes. Thus it's taken me much longer than anticipated to get back to things like updating the Grickle website with my witty musings and ever so whimsical images.
I hope everyone enjoys the new blog format for Grickle news. It seemed like the natural direction for the news page and with the ease of use I hope it will result in more consistent postings from yours truly.
Here's a recent sketchbook doodle, entitled "low altitude."
